So, how do you prime the pump? It's easy! Here are two step-by-step guides

Strategy 1

1: Turn off your pool pump

2: In case you have a sand filter turn it to “recirculate”

3: Check the skimmer and the return jet so that are not plugged

4: Remove the pump’s lid by turning it counterclockwise.

5: Permit water to flow into the pump housing using a garden hose for at least two minutes.

6: Replace the pump’s lid and turn it clockwise to secure it in place. Make sure all the drain plugs are in place.

7: Turn on your pool pump and let it run for a few minutes to ensure that it is functioning properly.

8: If the pump won’t prime, repeat the process a few more times

Once is primed:

If you have a Sand Filter, return the handle to “Filter”

Strategy 2

1: Turn off your pool pump

2: In case you have a sand filter turn it to “recirculate”

3: Check the skimmer and the return jet so that are not plugged

4: Remove the skimmer basket. Take all nozzle & fittings off the garden hose and place the end of the hose into the Suction Line (as far as it will go) in the skimmer box. Turn the hose on full. Don’t leave fittings on the hose!

5: Remove the pump’s lid by turning it counterclockwise and pour 4-5 buckets of water into the pump basket. Replace the lid quickly by turning it clockwise to secure it in place and turn the pump on.

6: Let it run for a few minutes to ensure that it is functioning properly.

7: If the pump won’t prime, Repeat step 5 a few more times

Once is primed:

.Remove the garden hose from the skimmer and replace the skimmer basket

.If you have a Sand Filter, return the handle to “Filter”
